My name is Andrew ElliottI am currently a Graduate student at Colorado State University in the field of Communications and Media Management.
When I am not studying, I am a passionate explorer of the visual arts, specifically in the mediums of film and animation. I've been experimenting in video and animation unprofessionally for well over a decade, but have been working professionally with those mediums over the last couple of years. I also enjoy drawing, running, weight lifting, biking and bird watching as well as gaming on my monstrous PC. Work Philosophy I have many values that I incorporate throughout my work process. First, I start by exercising my creativity, as it is a valuable instrument for innovation. Once an idea is formulated, I plan out how the job can be done most efficiently. Of course, different jobs come with different challenges, so it is important that I be adaptable and perseverant towards what the task requires.
“Creativity is thinking up new things. Innovation is doing new things.” (Levitt, 2002) For some projects, it is necessary to bring on additional team members in order to ensure success. Within such project I take leadership in order to coordinate the other collaborators on the project. It is also important that I be accountable for my own work and take ownership of my mistakes. “Collaboration begins with mutual understanding and respect.” (Garan, 2015) Once the main framework of a project is in place is when I turn my attention to the details, transforming a mediocre piece of work into a masterpiece. Whether it be a personal project or a job for a client, I always work hard to deliver fantastic results. “The difference between something good and something great is attention to detail.” (Swindoll & Graham, 1994) Levitt, T.
